We believe that everyone needs a fair treatment for their hard work, effort, quality and products. Regardless of certifications that come as part of the bussiness, we treat and recognize our farmers and partners as the most important in every step of the way from farm to cup. We pay prices significantly above the guidelines to ensure a good product and a good income to support the families in our coffee trade.

OUR ORIGINS

Our country has 19 states where coffee is produced and hand picked in every crop. Having so many micro-climates, biodiversity, tradition and varietals allows all of our coffees to be different, intense, aromatic and flavorful. The coffees we currently source are being harvested in four main states, but we can provide you with coffee from any state of our nation. These coffees we source, range between 1400 and 2000 masl.

Our Origins
TOLIMA

Tolima is the third largest coffee producer state in the country. It is one of the four states that are part of the area known as "eje cafetero". Some of our coffee farms and locations in Tolima include:

Quindio%20WHI_edited.jpg

Quindio state is one of the oldest and recognized coffee producing areas in Colombia. Also known for being part of the "paisaje cafetero" declared by Unesco. Our coffee farms in Quindio include:

Narino%20WHI_edited.jpg

Nariño state is located south of the country. Coffee from this area is highly appreciated and recognized. The highlands and volcanic soils give these coffees a unique set of flavors.

Cundinamarca%20WHI_edited.jpg

In these recent years, Cundinamarca state has developed and refined its coffee production, with different soil and farming processes, plus its bio  diversity and climate.

OUR VARIETALS

It is well known that in Colombia all of the coffee varietals are originated in the Coffea Arabiga family.  We have availability and source multiple varietals in our diverse lands. We have been selecting  all of our coffees in many different possibilities. The most common varietals range from Castillo, Caturra, Colombia, Tabi, Gesha and Bourbon.

CASTILLO

This varietal is one of the most popular and widely cultivated in most areas of our country. This is a compound varietal that was developed from Caturra and the Timor hybrid, having high production yields, significant resistance to coffee leaf rust and excellent cup quality.

PROCESSES

WASHED

HONEY

NATURAL

Processes
Cafe Lavado 3.jpg

The washed process is widely used across Latin America and some areas of Africa. This process requires both the cherry and mucilage surrounding the parchment to be removed using friction, fermentation and water.

Our country has traditionally produced all of its coffee using washed process, both for commercial production and the specialty coffees we trade today.

Honey Coffee

The honey process is kind of a "hybrid" process that has many options and can create confusion for its variety and influence on fermentation and flavors. Cherries are depulped in a controlled process to define how much mucilage is left on the bean.

In recent years, our farmers have incorporated the honey process to produce special flavors, aromas and broaden the specialty coffee production.

The natural process is the oldest and original form of coffee processing. It was traditionally used in Brazil due to low costs and volume processing for commercial scale production. In areas like Ethiopia, the natural process has been used because of limited water resources.

Some of  our farmers have turned into natural processing to add new flavors and options to our trade in specialty coffees.
